Let Your Journey Begin

Applying The Huna Principles

Now that you know the Huna Principles you can gain a greater understanding of them by putting them into practice. One simple way of doing this is to begin your day by going over the Principles and applying them to the things you want in life. An example of this can be found below on the left "Begin Each Day With The Seven Principles". Give it a try, it has worked many wonders for me.

Starting off your day by reminding yourself that you are in charge of your reality and that you have all the tools you need to change it if you wish really sets the mood for the day. It helps us to continually cultivate Love while releasing our fears and guilts.

Another way to increase not only your understanding of how all of this works, but to work on the issues you have in mind is to begin to use the power of Blessings. More fully described by Serge Kahili King in Aloha International's "Little Book of Aloha". I give you the basics below. This practice is so simple and the results are so rewarding you begin to wonder why everyone isn't doing it. I have found that there is a trick to it. The trick is that you have to remember to do it. Develop the habit and reap the rewards!

Sharing love with others is an exquisite experience which attunes You to the Universal Power that the Hawaiians call mana. Lovingly using this divine power is the secret to attaining true health, happiness, prosperity and success. Bless Everyone and Everything that represents what you want.

Blessing focuses your mind on the positive, creative force of the Power of the Universe. It moves your energy outward, allowing more Power to come through you. Plus by blessing others you bypass any subconscious fears you may have about what you want for yourself, and the focus on blessing others brings the same good into your own life.

Blessings

Blessings can be done using imagery, touch or words. Using words is the most common, but go ahead and use whatever method feels right.

Your blessing can be as simple as verbalizing something that you admire. Perhaps a beautiful flower, a starry night or a sleeping child. You can make a statement for increase or endurance such as, "I bless the strength of this tree; blessed be the abundance of the sands on this beach."

Blessings can also be statements of appreciation or thanks. Appreciating the rain or the help someone has given you. You can also bless anticipated events like someone's promotion or you could say, "You are going to have a wonderful vacation."; "Thank you for my perfect mate." There is no end to what you can bless.

You've heard the saying that one error erases all of your accomplishments? Well, the same is pretty much true with blessings. You have to give up cursing things, being critical in your thoughts and words. Criticism tends to negate the blessings. The more you curse things, the harder it will be to receive the good from a blessing. When you do slip and curse or are critical in thinking of yourself or others, immediately give yourself a blessing.

You can enhance the power of your blessings by using a Hawaiian breathing technique called pikopiko. As you inhale, imagine your breath along with Universal Energy entering your body through the crown of your head. As you exhale imagine your breath leaving through your navel, which you see as your connection to the Universe. Breath like this as long as you like.

When you feel relaxed, centered and energized, begin imagining that you are surrounded with an invisible cloud of light and that your breathing increases this field. Now as you bless, imagine that the object of your blessing is surrounded with the same energy field.

That is all there is to it. Bless anything that resembles what you want, from all of the money in circulation to the patience of a stone, there are no limits. Learn to appreciate and bless all that you see. This attitude of love will result in many blessings coming your way.

A Morning Ritual

When you awaken in the morning, take a moment to reinforce your desires and expectations by using the Seven Principles. This will strengthen our knowledge of the principles as well as clarify our purpose and harmonize our feelings and emotions..

To do this, repeat the following to yourself: "Be Aware that the world is what you think it is. Decide that you have the power to succeed. Be Free because there are no limits, give yourself the right to succeed. Be Focused because energy flows where attention goes. Increase your desire to succeed. Be Here because now is the moment of power. Start right now with a will to succeed.

Be Happy because love is the source of power. Enjoy and acknowledge the good that is. Be Confident because all power comes from within. Always trust yourself. Be Positive because effectiveness is the measure of success. Always expect the best." I think you will find that doing this each day will make a big difference in your life.

Mahalo to Serge Kahili King for these teachings. His books and courses can be found in the Serenity Store.

Morrnah's Prayer

I want to include here a prayer given by Morrnah Nalamaku Simeona, a Hawaiian Kahuna who was named a Living Treasure of Hawaii in 1983. Morrnah (and others who have used it) found that these words could clean up negative energies around us. Here is the prayer:

Divine Creator, Father, Mother, Son as One...If I, my family, relatives and ancestors have offended you, your family, relatives and ancestors in thoughts, words, deeds and actions from the beginning of our creation to the present, we ask your forgiveness...Let this cleanse, purify, release, cut all the negative memories, blocks, energies and vibrations, and transmute these unwanted energies into pure light....And it is done.

In Huna every thought is a prayer. This particular prayer speaks of memories and cleaning. The fourth Principle tells us that only Now is powerful. So how do memories become involved? When we have a memory, we are thinking and feeling things from the past in the present moment. By holding onto all of the old stuff and bringing it into the present, it continues to haunt us our whole lives. Do you see patterns of behavior in yourself that are caused by negative memories or energies? Most of us do. Let this prayer help you remove that negativity.

There is much beauty in these teachings. I have only begun to touch on them here. I encourage you to visit the Huna Store to find more information and more ways to heal yourself and others. Visit the Serenity Jewelry store to find the piece of jewelry that embodies and expresses the qualities you are looking for in your life.
